In this PhD forum, we are pleased to have invited a new faculty member, Dr. Jody Wong as a speaker to talk about her research. Dr. Wong is from Hong Kong and is mainly responsible for our courses done in English. Dr. Wong finished quarantine at the end of March, In April, she settled down in Kaohsiung and started the classes. Before coming to Taiwan, she had been a lecturer in Hong Kong for many years and is a very eloquent and lively teacher. Dr. Wong has received great comments from both local and foreign students for her simple yet effective teaching style and, not to mention her warm and caring personality. At the end of the speech, we, the teachers, were asked to leave so that Dr. Wong could "talk to the heart" with the Ph.D. students, so that everyone can easily chat and practice in English, how considerate of her.

In addition, Dr. Wong had astonishing academic performances as a student. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a BA (Hons)degree in Management (specializes in human resources management). Her master's degree is from the City University of Hong Kong, majoring in organizational behavior. Her Ph.D. degree is from one of the top 100 universities in the world, a Ph.D. in Management from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Her advisor, Markus Groth, is a distinguished researcher in the field of emotional labor. Therefore, Dr. Wong also choses emotional labor as one of her research fields.

In addition to sharing her research results with everyone, the teachers and students also exchanged their opinions with Dr. Wong (I can’t help but give a bunch of suggestions...XD) Dr. Wong also taught the polynomial regression to us on the spot. The atmosphere was very enjoyable. Finally, Dr. Wong said that she had come all way from Hong Kong and hoped that she could adapt to the new environment soon and would work hard to keep up with everyone.
